Lifestyle is the way of living including personal activities and behavior of a person depending upon the biological atmosphere. There is a strong co-relation of lifestyle activities leading to illness, morbidity and mortality around 60% of individual health is related to his/her lifestyle. The unregulated use of technology resulted in physical inactivity, increase of unhealthy food habits and irregular sleep etc.
Diet, sleep, physical activity, regular detoxification, recreation, and occupation are the important factors that influences lifestyle. A balance way of living is helpful to prevent illness and to improve the quality of life.
1. Choose a vegetarian diet. Diet should consist of 80% alkaline food and 20% acidic food for preserving health.
2. Food consumption timing should be between 9am to 7 pm and practice mindful eating.
3. Consume 500-700 gram of local and seasonal raw fruits and vegetables per day.
4. Do not overeat.
5. Two-three meals per day depending on your physical activity.
6. Reduce intake of white salt, white sugar, white flour and processed food.
7. Water intake should be sufficient i.e. 3-4 litres healthy water per day.
8. Include in your diet-sprouts whole green, green leafy vegetables.
Physical inactivity increase the risk of hypertension, obesity, diabetes, impaired immunity and cardio vascular disease. Yoga, walking or practicing and safe form of exercise should be performed daily.
Good quality sleep for 8-9 hours is required for healthy life. Sleeping early by 10 pm and waking up by 6 am is health supporting habit. Disturbed sleep pattern have serious impacts on metabolism, hormonal balance, mood disorders and Neuro-degeneration.
Regular practice of body detox processes like naturopathy shatkarmas, fasting, mudra pranayama & LDM Meditation will reduce the risk of diseases.
Leisure pass time is an important factor of healthy lifestyle. Recreational activities make us feel better and happy. It includes like gardening, outdoor/indoor games, diff. types of walking like acupressure track & sand track walking, laughing, music, cooking, and creative work.
